My Story
You know those moments that change your life forever? The kind that hit you like a ton of bricks and suddenly everything is different?
One impulsive gene study did that for me. What I expected to be a quick check-the-box test became the moment that uncovered a truth I never saw coming — a hidden gene mutation quietly stitched into my DNA: BRCA2.
From that moment on, my mind was unstoppable. Spiraling, questioning, processing, reframing — all at once. Thoughts I couldn’t shut off. Fears I didn’t know how to name. And a future I suddenly had to rethink.
So, to get it out of my head and into the world, I created The Hidden Gene Diaries. A place where I can share my raw, honest truths — the unfiltered moments, the messy emotions, the complicated beauty of navigating hereditary cancer risk. A place where maybe someone else can feel a little less alone. A place that brings awareness to BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations, the women and men who carry them, and the strength threaded through their stories.
These pages hold pieces of my journey, but they’re also for anyone standing at the edge of their own life-changing moment — trying to make sense of what comes next.
Welcome.
You’re not alone here.
